The Walkers meet every Tuesday at 2pm at the Wychwood Surgery on the first two Tuesdays of the month, and at Milton Village Hall for the rest of the month. We are not a vigorous cross country rambling club. We walk within the hour, and finish with a cup of tea and a biscuit. The longest distance we do is two and a half miles, and not everyone walks that far.
Our motto is walking for health, and so although everyone is encouraged to walk the full distance, we recognise that this is not possible for everyone, and so we have different lengths of walks to suit our members. Some members walk the full hour, some around half an hour, and some less. The walking group was formed 8 years ago under the auspices of the Wychwood Surgery to promote and encourage walking as a beneficial healthy exercise. At the moment we have 17 members, and the average turnout for a Tuesday is ten.
If you feel that a convivial, gentle walk once a week is for you, please contact Sue Mann on 832434, or Marjorie Connolley on 832851. Alternatively turn up next Tuesday – you will be very welcome and can join us straight away.
