Local pub operator purchases protected pub

After a protracted marketing period of 2½ years, the Quart Pot has finally been sold and work has started on an extensive refurbishments of the premises. Delays were incurred as the premises were listed as an Asset of Community Value, needed complete refurbishment and were also adjacent to a development site.

Sue Hawkins, who acquired the property commented: “My niece Rachel and I are delighted to have become the new owners of The Quart Pot in Milton under Wychwood! Once we have completed a comprehensive refurbishment of the site we will relaunch at the end of February with a new look, a new name and the injection of enthusiasm this lovely old pub deserves. Having recently won a national award for turning an under achieving local pub (The Bell at Stow) into a roaring success, we are hoping we can do the same with this fantastic project!”

The pub, to be renamed The Hare, will be a proper village pub – open 7 days a week and offering a warm welcome alongside well-kept cask ales, a large selection of wines by the glass or bottle, freshly ground coffee, thick cut sandwiches at lunchtime plus a full menu of delicious food cooked to order and supplemented by a daily changing Specials Board offering fresh fish & seafood.
