Tour of Britain – In the Wychwoods

Following the previous post on this topic (April 29th), we are pleased to announce that activities are being arranged on the green for the forthcoming Tour of Britain on September 9th.

The Tour of Britain cycle race will be making it’s way through the Wychwoods somewhere around 1:20 – 1:40pm.

A small committee has been formed to publicise activities taking place through local organisations – either before the event or on the race day. We are also involved in planning events on the green.

Activities are being arranged at MILTON VILLAGE GREEN on the day – starting from around 12pm.

There will be a BBQ & Refreshments Public Address giving updates on the tour (from Charlbury to Milton), a Decorate your Bike competition, and 2 rides – a small 5-7 mile family ride, and another 30 mile circular route from Charlbury to Milton, being organised as part of the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust ‘Ride & Stride.’  See https://ohct.org.uk/news/ride-the-tour-for-all-ages/ for more details.

Plus – of course, a great viewing point from which to cheer on the riders (flags will be provided!).

Regular updates on the event are being posted on Facebook & Twitter (@wychwoodsToB), and more information will be provided on this site nearer the date.
