Countryside Champion needed for West Oxfordshire
The Campaign to Protect Rural England is looking for a new Chairperson to help co-ordinate its activities in West Oxfordshire, including Witney, Chipping Norton, Eynsham and all the surrounding areas.
CPRE works to protect and promote the countryside. Getting involved with a district committee is a great way of getting to know your local area and helping to influence local decision-making on issues such as planning policy and affordable housing. With so much development scheduled in West Oxfordshire over the next 20 years, it is vital that someone is in place to speak up for the countryside and make sure that we can keep thriving village communities.
The role is voluntary and needs a commitment of a few hours a week. No particular knowledge or qualifications are required, but it would suit someone with leadership or organisational experience and good people skills.
CPRE West Oxfordshire are holding their AGM on Thursday 13th September, 7.30-9pm at Warwick Hall, Church Green, Burford, OX18 4RY.
Martin Lane, Director of Cotswolds AONB, will be speaking on the Cotswold AONB and the proposal to achieve National Park status.
All welcome to attend.
