Latest on the Gas works in the High Street

I have just received the programme of work to be carried out by SGN. It is as follows:

Phase one – duration approximately 3 weeks

Our project will start on Monday 25 February in the High Street. To ensure everyone’s safety, we’ll need to close the High Street from 92 High Street to its junction with Jubilee Lane. A signed diversion will be in place for motorists.

Phase two – from 18 February for approximately 7 weeks

For our second phase of work we’ll need to close the High Street between its junctions with Jubilee Lane and Poplar Farm Close for everyone’s safety. We’ll close the road in sections as we progress along the High Street. Residents affected by road closures will be contacted to discuss access to their properties.

Phase three – from 29 April approximately for 4 weeks

During our final phase of our project we will need to close the High Street between its junctions with Poplar Farm Close and Church Road/Shipton Road. We’ll also need to install temporary traffic lights at the junction of Church Road, High Street and Shipton to maintain safety and traffic flow.

This is apparently included in a letter all residents should received.

I have a meeting with SGN on Monday and will report back afterwards.
