A message from Oxfordshire Library Service

Dear Friends and Supporters of Oxfordshire Libraries.

We are currently working towards the re-opening of our library service.  We don’t have that date yet, please be assured that we are working hard to make sure that we are ready for when we do. We are expecting to take a phased approach to reopen library spaces with the safety of our customers and staff as our main priority, and provide a geographical spread of locations across the county to front door services, considering our available staff and government advice.  Please stay connected with us on Facebook @OxfordshireLibraries and Twitter @oxonlibraries  We are planning a full consultation with all Friends Groups before any information is made public about re-opening our community libraries and will be in touch in due course.

We also have some other information that you may find interesting.

Summer Reading Challenge 2020

From Friday 5th June, children can join Silly Squad, Summer Reading Challenge 2020 by signing up online at www.sillysquad.org.uk

The challenge will be running throughout the summer until late September.  We have a programme of Silly Squad posts to put up on Oxfordshire Libraries social media pages.  Any help promoting the digital only challenge this year would be appreciated.  There are two attached images to this email which you are free to use via social media or on your webpage.

Ancestry now Accessible at Home

We are delighted to let you know that we are now providing home access to Ancestry Library Edition. This means that the software can now be used to conduct family research from the comfort of your own home!  For licensing reasons, this is slightly different from our other online services in that customers need to sign into their Library Account and click on a live link behind that in order to gain access.  Please click on the link to take a look https://libcat.oxfordshire.gov.uk/web/arena/my-account  and login using your library card.

Library User Survey

We are conducting a survey of library users (and potential library users) online to find out what you have been missing and what events and activities users want to see when we re-open.  It take a few minutes to fill out this quick survey about your libraries. We miss you and want to find out what you think about the services we offer. Your feedback will help us plan for the future.  Please click/share the link Oxfordshire Library Survey  The survey closes early next week.

With thanks for all that you do.
