Milton under Wychwood Scarecrow Trail
We are having a Scarecrow Trail and Flower Festival in Milton village on Saturday 8th June this year to raise money for our local branches of the Brownies, Guides, Cubs and Scouts. The theme for the event is TV and film characters.
We would love as many people as possible to get involved and this includes businesses and organisations within our village. This can be either by making a scarecrow, a floral display in the church or both! There will be a small registration fee of £3.00 to take part.
Our hope is that people will make and display a scarecrow at the boundary of their property, or if this is not possible for businesses and organisations, the scarecrow can be displayed on the village green or on the route up to the church. We will have a marked trail to follow taking in all the scarecrows and those on the trail will be asked to guess which TV or film character is represented by each scarecrow.
There will be a flower festival in St Simon and St Jude’s church and again, people will be asked to guess which TV or film character is represented by each floral display.
We also plan to have refreshments and scarecrow-related crafts in the village hall.
There are exciting prizes including a family pass to The Big Feastival and also The Cotswolds Farm Park which will be given for the people’s choice scarecrow and the people’s choice flower display.
It would be lovely to come together as a community for this fun event to raise money for the children’s activities and we hope that you will want to get involved.
More details will be available nearer the date but in the meantime, please contact me (by email or phone) if you would like any further information or to register your interest in taking part.
