The Wychwoods Local History Society

40th Anniversary Year

The Wychwoods Local History Society has been serving the interests of local history in the Wychwood area continuously for over 40 years. It was founded by residents of local villages in 1981 and meets once a month from September through to May with nine evening talks. Here is our current programme 2021-2022

Joining the Society

We welcome new members, and invite you to join the society to receive members benefits, including free access to the society’s season of talks. See more here.

Helping Each Other to Preserve Our History

  • Find out who used to live in your house.
  • Let us scan any of your old photographs and possibly repair damaged ones
  • Let us record  any features if you have an old house
  • Let us record any memories you have of the Wychwoods in the past
  • Discuss local history with likeminded people
  • Carry out local history research for possible publication on our website
  • Help us record, scan and photograph objects and ephemera or more substantial records of relevance to our local history
  • Get in touch and Contact Us

Photographic Archive

A team of our members have been digitising all our archive of photographs. Here are the photos so far added. We present them individually, and also in a slideshow.
